Blood splatter

Aim: To Experiment with blood from different angles different higths and with different equipment to see what it looks like from all of these different scenarios.

For the Equipment that we are using for this experiment is plastic pipette fake blood and some a3 paper.

Method:Drop 3 drops of blood from different heights and angles to see what the blood looks like from all these different.

the heights that we will be dropping the blood from is 2,10,20,50 and 100 cm when we drop the blood we will measure the diameter of all the drops.

For the angles we will be moving left and right while we are dropping blood to see what it looks like when blood is dropped from angles.

Discussion-Blood spaalter is different from different hights drops. this relates to forensics because we are studying blood splatter from different angles and heights

red blood cells transport oxygen and carbon dioxide

white blood cells defend the body against infections and diseases

plasma transports nutrients, hormones, and waste, while regulating body temperature and maintaining pressure

Conclusion- It was pretty cool and fun

Charles darwin

charles darwin is a famous biologist from England. He is the man who created the theory of evolution that monkeys evolved into humans.  Did you know He travelled on a boat called “the beagle” for 5 years, while he looked at the animals that lived all around the world? Because Charles Darwin is a biologist he studied rocks and the environment. When he wrote his book about evolution he got a lot of mixed felling because it was hard to believe that humans use to be monkeys. And because of religious people believing the fact that a god created them.

How the polynesians migrated to New Zealand.

The Polynesians first set sail from south east Asia to Samoa,Papa New Guinea, Samoa and Guam.  Next they went to Solomon Island, Marshal Island.

From there they traveled to Hawai rapanui Easter island and finally New Zealand. The polynesians used double hulled canoes to navigate the seas they used stars the sun cloud and birds. The key hints that they knew if they were near an island was that there were birds flying around because they don’t go far from land. For the stars they used constellations to show them what direction they were in.

this school year

This year at Hornby High School, I really enjoyed being part of both the basketball team and the football team. Even though we weren’t the strongest teams out there and didn’t win as many games as we hoped, it was still an amazing experience. I had a lot of fun playing alongside my teammates, improving my skills, and being part of the team environment. The practices, the games, and even the tough losses helped me grow and enjoy the sport even more. I’m really looking forward to next year, and I hope I get the chance to play again for both the basketball and football teams. he thing I was most hesitant about was having to deal with all the different subjects, especially the ones I knew I wasn’t very good at. In primary school, we only had a small set of subjects, and they stayed the same throughout the year, so I always knew what to expect. Moving into high school was a big change because suddenly there were many new subjects, and they changed every term. I wasn’t sure how well I would handle the variety or whether I’d be able to keep up. It felt a bit overwhelming at first, but it also pushed me to try new things and step out of my comfort zone.

What is Show Quest NZ?

Show Quest is a national event challenging high school students across New Zealand to create their own original performances. Whether through dance, drama, music, or a mix of all three, students collaborate to conceptualize, choreograph, and perform a unique piece that tells a story, addresses a theme, or explores an issue that resonates with them.

vr science activity

Science VR Activity Reflection – Fish Habitats
Last Monday in science class, we did a virtual reality (VR) activity about fish habitats. The VR experience showed us the difference between protected and unprotected marine environments. In protected habitats, the water was cleaner, there were more fish, and the ecosystem looked healthier. In unprotected areas, there was more pollution, fewer fish, and damaged coral reefs. This activity helped me understand the importance of marine conservation and how human actions affect underwater life. The thing I liked was seeing all the fish up close and feeling like being in the water with the diver and fish.

Energy summary.

Kinetic energy is the energy an object possesses due to its motion, while potential energy is stored energy that has the capacity to do work. A moving ball has kinetic energy, whereas a ball held aloft possesses potential energy. These two forms of energy can be converted into each other, for example, when the ball is dropped, its potential energy transforms into kinetic energy as it falls.
